Dear Friend of the AGG,
For over ten years now, the American Glass Guild has been holding conferences and supporting the glass community through scholarship and educational opportunities. As we move closer to this year’s conference, to be held at the University of Chicago’s Logan Art Center, I am writing to ask for your continued support.
All of the funding for James C. Whitney Scholarship Fund comes from the American Glass Guild’s Auction. These funds provide opportunities for scholarship recipients to travel nationally and internationally, to explore and refine their skills. We’ve awarded more than 100 individuals with scholarships, and with your support we can continue to aid many of those who request financial assistance.
Each year, we strive to give worthy glass artists, conservators and historians the opportunity to attend our conference, take educational classes, and further their exploration and knowledge of the craft through the workshops and demonstrations.

Past auctions have featured more than 100 items, including:
• Unique, handcrafted and signed works of art glass and other original artwork
• Historical publications and valuable, sometimes collectible, books on the art and craft of stained glass, art and architecture
• Materials such as hand-blown glass, opalescent art glass, bevels, roundels
• Tools and supplies, such as specialty brushes, vitreous paints, and metals
• Services and gift certificates for specialty workshops and instructional opportunities both here in the US and abroad.
At this year’s Conference, the Silent Auction tables will open on Friday, July 8th and will close Saturday Evening. The Live Auction will be the pinnacle of the evening, where your generous donations will be a part of the festivities.
Last year, because of your generosity and support, the American Glass Guild Auction raised almost $19,000! We ask you to help us again make this year’s auction as much of a success; please consider donating your artwork, goods, or services to the 2016 AGG Auction. It’s because of people like you that makes it possible to move our art form forward through our Scholarship Fund.
